Description of activity
Doctoral Researcher at the Department of Geographical and Historical Studies, University of Eastern Finland, Joensuu. MA attained in Transnational and Comparative History.
I have studied with a major focus on modern Europe, and hold minors in Public History and Comparative Indigenous History. Currently specializing in modern Finnish and North American Indigenous history, and am conducting a research project designed to explore Finnish Sámi and northern Native American (Michigan Ojibwe) school policies implemented by their respective governments in twentieth-century Indigenous residential schools.
Currently teaching Historian tutkimisprossesi ja tiedonhakinta (autumn 2023), and will be teaching Työelämään orientoituminen (spring 2024).
